What is Food Grade Silicone?

If we have to define the food grade silicone scientifically, food grade silicone is the common name for polymers that have silicon and oxygen atoms arranged sequentially instead of carbon in their skeleton. It is a little-known fact, but 28% of the earth's crust consists of the silicon element.

In a more general definition, silica sand (SiO2), the raw material of glass, turns into glass when crystallized, and when it is polymerized, that is, when it is left fluid, food grade silicone is obtained.

Silicone can be molded into many different shapes; It is light and flexible. It does not contain carcinogenic substances. It does not produce harmful emissions at high temperatures. In addition to being as healthy as glass, it provides great ease of use, especially in baby products, as it is not fragile like glass.

Silicone can largely preserve its physical structure even in environments with temperature differences and under harsh environmental conditions. In other words, silicone products can be used safely for years as long as the usage instructions are followed. Therefore, they are long-lasting and economical. They are also environmentally friendly and ecological because they are biodegradable.
